Moore IT are always looking for ways to recycle IT equipment and really like to help educational establishments that don’t necessarily have the budget to acquire the latest technology.
By regularly visiting nurseries and schools to provide them with IT support we come across the use of older technology – obsolete computers running Windows XP are still found in many schools.
Lucy Purnell, nursery manager at Mulberry Kidz mentioned that their nursery would really benefit from an interactive whiteboard and projector, but they didn’t have the budget to spend around £2000 buying a new one. We had kept this in mind over the last few months when we were relocating various businesses and upgrading their projectors. We were pleased to be able to save the nursery’s required items from other businesses: a projector, Smart board and sound system – and provide the equipment to them free of charge. The Nursery were delighted.
Technology waste is expected to top 65 million tons by 2017. Moore IT like to do anything that we can to help reduce this and are in a great position to do so when removing IT equipment from businesses/schools when they are re-locating. Being able to give the technology to assist children with their education makes perfect sense.
